Liberty

We live in a remarkable time.  Throughout almost all of human history, men have lived as slaves, serfs, or subjects.  That began to change with the Enlightenment. The founding of the United States of America, based on the individual's inalienable right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, was the high-water mark of liberty. These days, sadly, many people take our liberties for granted and would prefer to, in effect, return to the days of yore when the government was all powerful.  With this blog, I hope to let people know what liberty is, how we are losing it, and what we can do to reverse course.
