The National Debt

How are we losing our liberties?  One way to look at this question is by considerng the total accumulated debt owed by the the United States Government--i.e., by the taxpayer.  According to the U.S. Treasury, the total accumulated national debt as of September 2, 2010 was $13.44 trillion dollars.  With almost 310 million people in the U.S., that works out to about $43,500 per man, woman, and child.  And that figure grows each day as we pile on more and more debt.

It is outrageous that this and previous generations have spent trillions of dollars and sent the bill to future generations.  Those future generations will rightfully view the generations that preceeded them as villans.
